Additions and Corrections Ester Hydrolysis by a Catalytic Cyclodextrin Dimer Enzyme Mimic with a Metallobipyridyl Linking Group [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1997, 119, 1676-1681]. BILIANG ZHANG AND RONALD BRESLOW* In Figure 2, the initial rates listed on the ordinate should be 3000-fold smaller, for an absorbance correction. Thus the value of Vmax in the figure legend and the value of kcat in the discussion of this figure should also be 3000-fold smaller, but the Km is not affected. All the catalyzed rate constants in the tables were from full kinetic plots, not initial rates, and the uncatalyzed rate constants were initial rates with valid absorbance corrections. Thus all the rate constants and ratios listed in the tables, including the catalytic acceleration by a factor of 1 700 000 in Table 5, are correct. We thank Richard Schowen for pointing out this error to us. JA985507C S0002-7863(98)05507-3 Published on Web 05/29/1998

1-N-Iminosugars: Potent and Selective Inhibitors of β-Glycosidases [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1998, 120, 3007-3018]. YOSHITAKE ICHIKAWA,* YASUHIRO IGARASHI, MIE ICHIKAWA, AND YOSHITOMO SUHARA The following sentence should have appeared at the end of the introduction: Glucose-type 1-N-iminosugar (isofagomine) was first reported by Bols and his co-workers,14 who have also made a major contribution to the 1-N-iminosugar chemistry. For an account of his work, see: Bols, M. Acc. Chem. Res. 1998, 31, 1-8. JA985509X S0002-7863(98)05509-7 Published on Web 05/30/1998
