Polymer grade Azelaic Acid produces 6/9 nylon comparable to 6/10 at lower cost. Nylons derived from Emerox® 1144 Azelaic Acid show promising po tential in monofilament bristles in personal and industrial brushes, ex truded wire coating, and molding powders. They offer excellent abra sion resistance, low water absorp tion, high impact strength and flexibility, and a good overall bal ance of properties (see table). A polymer grade dibasic acid, Emerox 1144 has light initial color, excellent color stability, and ex tremely low monobasic acid con tent. Its linear C9 structure usually improves low temperature impact strength, without sacrificing high temperature performance. Emerox 1144 costs less than sebacic acid, and yet is purer and has

better color and color stability. It thus provides better control over processing and end product char acteristics in nylon, polyester, and urethane polymers. Emery offers other exceptional bi-functional monomers — Empol® 1010 Dimer Acid, Emery 3752-D

Bis (hydroxyethyl) Azelate (BHEZ), Emery 3764-R Dimethyl Azelate (DMZ), and Emery 3879-R Bis (hydroxyethyl) Dimerate (BHED) — to help you create unusual new arrangements of traditional mole cules. Check coupon to receive ad ditional information.

There's an Emerez® Polyamide Resin for almost every application. The broad line of Emerez Polyam ide Resins contains 14 grades and covers three important application areas: (1) High performance polyamide resins for critical hot melt and sol vent based adhesives. Their super ior properties include stability at high temperature, high bond strength, high levels of tensile strength, high impact strength, out standing adhesion, and sharp melt ing points. (2) Unique resins for flexographic and rotogravure inks and alkyd modification. These cosolvent, al cohol reducible, and alcohol soluble resins impart excellent detergent re sistance, grease resistance, high gloss, excellent adhesion, fast sol

vent release, non-blocking proper ties, and outstanding wet pack resistance to ink systems. (3) Reactive (liquid) polyamide resins react with epoxy resins to produce a thermoset resinous product with excellent resiliency, toughness, and flexibility. They are used in industrial and marine coat

ings, flooring, and adhesives. The superior quality of Emerez Polyamide Resins is due to the basic raw material from which it is de rived: Empol® Dimer Acid which Emery pioneered and introduced commercially 20 years ago. For evaluation samples and com plete information, mail coupon.
