SYSTEMS ENGINEERING The Chemstrand C o r p o r a t i o n — a major producer o f chemical textile fibers—is seeking the f o l l o w i n g for attractive systems engineering and a p p l i e d mathematics assignments in its Engineering a n d Development Department: • Chemical Engineers—B.S. or higher d e g r e e with g r a d u a t e study in process dynamics, control system theory, computer applications, a p p l i e d mathematics, or chemical kinetics. Duties will consist o f developing mathematical models of chemical processes from studies involving chemical reaction kinetics, equipment dynamics a n d automatic controls. Computer e x p e r i ence desirable. • Mathematicians—B.S. or higher d e g r e e with g r a d u a t e study in numerical analysis, statistics, o p e r a t i o n a l mathematics, or p a r t i a l differential equations. Duties will consist of a p p l y i n g a d v a n c e d mathematical techniques for computers t o assist in process studies and other scientific projects. Computer experience desirable. • Control Engineer—B.S. or higher d e g r e e with g r a d u a t e study in control system theory, electronic analog computers, a d v a n c e d electronics, random processes and noise, or a d v a n c e d mathe matics. Duties will consist o f developing and testing control systems for chemical processes and evaluating analytical instru ments and special-purpose computers. A n a l o g computer experience desirable.
