68th ACS Colloid & Surface Science Symposium

T

he 68th ACS Colloid & Surface Science Symposium, sponsored by the ACS Division of Colloid & Surface Chemistry and supported by a grant from Henkel Corp. and the Industrial Affiliates Program of Stanford University's departments of chemistry and chemical engineering, will be held June 19-22 at Stanford University, Stanford, Calif. The technical program includes more than 340 papers in 11 parallel sessions. Plenary lectures will be presented by George M. Whitesides, department of chemistry, Harvard University, and Rudolf Klein, department of physics, Universitat Konstanz, Germany. The La Mer Lecture and two Henkel Fellows' papers will be given as part of the symposium. The program includes a three-day nucleation symposium and a special catalysis symposium honoring Michel Boudart on his 70th birthday. Other special events include a welcoming mixer on June 19 from 7 to 10 PM, and the symposium banquet on June 21 at 6:30

SPECIAL EVENTS

PM. Stanford University is 25 miles south of San Francisco and easily accessible from both San Francisco and San Jose International Airports, with several transportation alternatives available. The Governor's Corner student residences have been reserved for symposium participants as an American Plan package (three nights' accommodations [Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday], three breakfasts [Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday], three lunches [Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday], and Monday dinner).
