News and Announcements 72nd Colloid and Surface Science Symposium June 21-24, 1998 The Pennsylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania Scope of Conference. Carrying on the traditions begun in 1923, the 1998 Symposium will feature plenary lectures, an extensive technical program, exhibits from leading instrument suppliers, and a variety of special events. The technical program will include more than 500 papers consisting of several invited papers and a number of contributed oral and poster presentations. Plenary Lectures. Two plenary lectures will be presented by internationally renowned scientists. The first plenary lecture by Professor Toyoki Kunitake, Kyushu University, Japan, is titled Layerby-Layer Assembly of Organic and Metal-Oxide Molecules by Alternate Adsorption and Surface Sol-Gel Process. The second plenary lecture by Professor Mats Almgren, University of Uppasala, Sweden, is titled From Perforated Vesicles to Dispersed Reverse Phases.
