A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF CHEMICAL PLANT DESIGN FOR STUDENTS HELMUT M. HAENDLER

AND

CHESTER P. BAKER

Northeagtern University, Boston. Massachusetts

THE bibliography was prepared for the use of students in the Chemical Plant Design course a t Northeastern University. No attempt was made to cover all available references on the subject; a representative selection was made from the more common journals, with a few book references. There is necessarily some duplication, certain articles containing material bearing on more than one phase of the plant design problem. The references are arranged in groups, following the customary procedure employed in designing a chemical works. These classifications are: characteristics

of the chemical industry, general considerations of the plant design problems, preliminary investigation, technical development-research, semicommercial plant, flow sheets, selection of equipmen*, materials handling, power factors, plant layouts, plant construction, plant location, plant organization, safety engineering, general economics, and costs. The 194 references are numbered for convenience. For detailed bibliography order Document 1001 from Science Service, 2101 Constitution Ave., Washington, D. C., remitting 25t for microfilm form, or 45k for photocopies readable without optical aid.
