A Computer Program for Balancing Chemical Equations The matrix method of Fahishak [ C h m . , 40, 18 (1967)l has been utilized t o develop a computerprogram, writ,ten in Fortran IV, far halrtncing chemical equations. Theprogram is restricted t o matrices of size4 X 5, or less because of the bulkiness of the program. A second program, t o handle the larger matrices, is intended. The program is quite suitable for remote terminal use and can be a.valurthle teachine aid for trsininn non-science Chemistrv students to balance chemical may he obtained upon request from the first-named author.
