A High School Chemistry Demonstration Club Project The Chemistry Club of Midland High School, Midland, Texas, has since 1957 been renamed the Chemistry Demonstration Club. The big project of the members is presenting demonstrations on Friday afternoons for the sixth grade classes in the local elementary schools. Each year some 1200 sixth graders visit the high school chemistry laboratory for a. program of instructive fun, learning about chemistry by watching denmmtrations. Another part of the project has been to invite fourth, fifth, and sixth graders who have received chemistry sets for Christmas t o come to the laboratory far a two-hour session during the holidays. Safety instruction, glass~~orking, and equipment demonstration have been featured. Response from students, both the high school demonstrators and the audience, has been enthusiastic.
