Additions and Corrections Methyl Iodide Thermal Reactions When Chemisorbed on Ni(100) Surfaces Sariwan Tjandra and Francisico Zaera* Langmuir 1992,8, 209&2097. We erroneouslyreportedthe energy of the Ni-CH3bond to be 57 kcal/mol (p 2096, first column, last paregraph). Using the values reported, namely, D(CHs-H) = 104kcal/ mol, D(H-H) = 104 kcal/mol, AZ?d(H$Ni(100)) = -23 kcallmol, and LVI(C&(g) CHdad) + H(ad)) 5 6 kcaV mol, the number for the bond energy of the carbon-nickel bond in adsorbed methyl comes out to be 34 kcal/mol or less.
