A Safe Technique for Removing GlassTubing from Rubber Stoppers At times it is almost impossible to remove glass tubes, rods, thermometers, etc. from ruhber stoppers, corks. or ruhher tuhing. It is particularly difficult and hazardous if the glass part is short and/or broken. A very easy solution is tn slip a hand cork borer, which is slightly larger than the glass part, over the glass and force it between the rubber and glass. This breaks the seal hetween the glass and ruhher and the glass part will easily slip out of the cork borer. Varying lengths of glass, including broken pieces completely within the ruhher stopper, can he removed by this method. This technique can prevent serious injury.
