Fisher Scientific Co.'s improved Charlab Washer handles a wide variety of glassware ranging from micropipets to odd-shaped apparatus and large-size graduates. Large pieces are locked directly in place by a combination of rods and screens and smaller units can be placed in accessory baskets. Revolving disks dip the glassware into hot wash water, soak it, then empty it as they rotate at 8 to 9 r.p.m. Both steam- and electrically heated models are available. 16

Homogenizer
A portable, high pressure homoge nizer has been developed by C. W. Logeman Co. for labora tory processing of ma terials in a closed system. The appa ratus handles quanti ties from 1 ml. to 25 gallons per hour at pressures to 3000 pounds per square inch. Stainless steel is used for all metal parts coming into contact with the product, which is completely separated from the drive mechanism. No packing or stuffing boxes are required, nor water or waste connections. The homogenizer head can be completely removed for autoclaving. The complete unit includes pressure gage, reservoir, plastic tubing, and 3 A-hp. a.c. motor. 17
