engineering and chemistry (journal Web site). Led by inaugural deputy editor Prof. Bin Liu, Provost’s Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore, ACS Materials Letters will publish high quality and urgent papers at the forefront of both fundamental and applied research at the interface between materials science and chemistry/chemical engineering. Letters that showcase multidisciplinary and innovative materials research addressing global challenges will be especially welcome. ACS Materials Letters is now open to submission, and as mentioned above, Chemistry of Materials and ACS Materials & Interfaces will focus exclusively upon publishing full articles. We will continue to consider those communications that were submitted to us before today, January 29, 2019, but after this

s authors ourselves, we understand that some results are better described in a succinct manner, and have a certain urgency with respect to publication. Similar to other successful titles in the ACS portfolio of journals (see Figure 1), ACS Publications has just launched a letters journal to complement ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and Chemistry of Materials, which have published primarily full articles of interest to the materials chemistry community. Up until now, these two journals have accepted both full articles and communications/ letters, but with the launch of our sister letters journal, ACS Materials Letters, we will focus solely upon full articles, as of today (January 29, 2019). As recently announced, ACS Materials Letters is an ideal venue for your top quality letters in the areas of materials science,

date, we will write the authors to ask if they would like (i) to resubmit as a full paper article with a full experimental section, or (ii) to have their manuscript transferred to ACS Materials Letters. We look forward to working closely with the deputy editor, Prof. Bin Liu, and her editorial team of ACS Materials Letters to help you publish your top work in this ideal venue.
