Dr. Richard M. Lemmon, research chemist at the Lawrence Radiation Lab, University of California, is chairman of the California Section for 1961. Dr. Lemmon has served the California Section as secretary, 195557, alternate councilor, 1958-60, and program chairman, 1960. Serving with him will be Clenn L. Allen, Jr., Dow Chemical, chairman-elect; Walter B. Peterson, Braun Knecht Heimann Co., secretary; and Dr. Benjamin Makower, California SprayChemical Corp., treasurer.

Weaver Chairs St. Joseph Valley Dr. Henry D. Weaver, Jr., associate professor of chemistry at Goshen College, is chairman of the St. Joseph Valley Section for 1961. Dr. Weaver was treasurer of the section in 1959. Serving with him will be Dr. Vincent J. Traynelis, University of Notre Dame, chairman-elect; Dr. Arthur A. Smucker, Goshen College, secretary; and Dr. Chauncey Rupe, Miles Labs, Inc., treasurer.
Penn-York Installs Rankin Malcolm R. Rankin, project leader in the research and development department of the Kendall Refining Co., is chairman of the Penn-York Section for 1961. Mr. Rankin joined Kendall 60

in 1947. He was secretary-treasurer of the Penn-York Section in 1955. Other officers include Reverdy E. Baldwin, Pittsburgh Corning Corp., chairman-elect; Andre C. Suan, Kendall Refining, secretary-treasurer; Richard G. Crumley, Kendall Refining, councilor; and Dr. Joseph N. Breston, Teck Labs, alternate councilor.
The ACS Executive Secretary's office again calls attention to the need for suggestions for the various Society offices to be filled in 1962. At the time of the ACS spring meeting, the Council Policy Committee will prepare a list of nominees for membership on the Committee on Nominations and Elections. The Committee on Nominations and Elections will select nominees for director-at-large and for membership on the Council Policy Committee and prepare a list of proposed nominees for President-Elect and regional directors. The suggestions of all members are solicited. For further particulars, see C&EN, Jan. 2, page 68. Proposals must reach Dr. Cecil L. Brown, Secretary, ACS Committee on Nominations and Elections, Esso Research and Engineering Co., Esso Center, Box 51, Linden, N.J., by February 14.
Mid-Hudson Elects New Chairman-Elect Dr. Morris A. Wiley, Texaco, Inc., has been elected chairman-elect of the Mid-Hudson Section for 1960-61 to fill a vacancy left by Dr. J. L. Hollowell who was transferred from the section. Other officers include Dr. Gene A. Silvey, IBM Research Laboratory, chairman; Dr. Elmer E. Schallenberg, Texaco, Inc., secretary; and Dr. Curt W. Beck, Vassar College, treasurer.
Unpaid Members Off Mailing List March 1 In accordance with Bylaw IV, Section 4, the names of all members whose dues and subscriptions for 1961 are not paid by March 1 must be removed from the mailing lists. If you have not sent in your 1961 payment, please do so in order that you may continue to receive your journals as published.
