Advancing the Fields of Measurement Science with Partnerships and Awards nalytical Chemistry is committed to publishing the newest advances in measurement science. However, we do more to promote our field by partnering with other measurement journals and organizations to sponsor awards and events. How many of these do you know about? I encourage you take advantage of some of the opportunities highlighted below. Are you planning to attend Pittcon 2019? If so, you may be interested in attending the award symposium presented by the winners of the 2019 Advances in Measurement Science Lectureship Awards, sponsored by the ACS measurement science journals, Analytical Chemistry, ACS Sensors, and Journal of Proteome Research, and the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry. These awards honor the contributions of individuals from each of three major geographic regions−the Americas, Europe/the Middle East/Africa (EMEA), and AsiaPacific−who have made major recent impacts to the fields of measurement science. This year’s winners are Charles S. Henry, Professor of Chemistry, Colorado State University, Chunhai Fan, Chair Professor, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Ester H. Segal, Associate Professor of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, the Technion−Israel Institute of Technology. Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their work? We are currently seeking nominations for the 2020 Advances in Measurement Science Lectureship Awards, to be presented at Pittcon 2020 in Chicago, Illinois. Staying on the subject of Analytical Chemistry and Pittcon, we participate in a number of joint events at the conference, including a reception with the ACS Analytical Division, ACS Sensors, and the Journal of Proteome Research, and research symposia sponsored by the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry. The focus of our symposium is to highlight an important contemporary subject area. Our 2018 inaugural symposium was on the topic of new measurement approaches for environmental sampling and measurements, and in 2019, leading experts highlight advances in single cell measurements. Together with the Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society, we are currently accepting nominations for the 2019 Young Innovator Award, which honors the contributions of an individual who has demonstrated exceptional technical advancement and innovation in the field of microfluidics or nanofluidics in their early career. In 2018, Sunitha Nagrath, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, received the award. This year’s award will be presented in October at the 23rd International Conference on Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences (μTAS) 2019 in Basel, Switzerland. Among many other activities, I regularly present workshops on publishing and peer reviewing from an Editor’s perspective at universities and conferences, and Analytical Chemistry jointly sponsors poster awards at several meetings each year. How can you get involved? You may wish to join the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry (or similar organizations). The ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry sponsors many other awards and events, with multiple opportunities for you to
