The Aerojet-General Chemical Division, Azusa, California, is the center of chemical and developmental research activities for the company. The staff is the largest in the rocket industry. The tasks assigned to this group are far more extensive than those offered by propellant studies alone. Studies of the Mechanical Behavior of Polymers and Fillers as Related to the Chemical Structure of the Polymers and Temperature • Thermodynamic Calculations and Associated Calorimetry • Studies on Viscometry, Rheology and Thixotropy • Research and Development of Sea Water Desalination Processes • Development of Special Purpose Sea-Water-Activated Batteries

• Development of Thermally Regenerated Batteries • Research and Development of Specialized Analytical Processes and Instrumentation • Development of Gas Générants for Mechanical Devices • Synthesis of New Organic and Inorganic Chemicals • Design and Development of Chemical Processes from Laboratory through Production Plant

The facilities provided for the performance of these tasks are modern. The equipment is the latest and best available. The continued growth of the company offers many opportunities for advancement.
