DISC ELECTROPHORESIS . . . resolves 0.01 ug protein . . . separates 20-30 protein fractions from human serum One hundred times more sensitive than the starch gel technique, this powerful new method separates large molecular weight substances on l ^ - i n c h long columns of a specially processed gel. More reproducible than either paper or starch, Disc Electrophoresis is also much faster — runs of l/z hour are typical instead of up to 12 hours. And you can actually watch the " f r o n t " move. Twelve samples may be run at one time and results quantitatively evaluated with an exciting new microdensitometer which scans the gel columns directly, producing a chart record of the position and density of the various bands. Some typical protein separations have produced: 14bands from brain extract (previously 3 by starch) / 4 sharp major hemoglobins (previously 3 blurred ones on paper) / 4 bands from frog embryo (previously 1 by starch).
