The New Aloe Gas Tester will enable you to analyze six containers, cans or bottles, at once, rather than single or double determina tions made with the usual apparatus. With the use of special adapters which increase the height, cans and bottles up to 4 inches in diameter may be analyzed in batteries of six or less. The unit is powered by a ^ 4 h.p. motor at 1140 r. p. m., shaking the stainless steel platform at 180 strokes per minute. Each of the six testing units automatically centers, raises, locks, and punctures the can top or bottle cap. A rubber gasket closes the area around the puncture needle to form an air-tight seal. At the moment of puncture an all brass pressure gauge indicates gas pressure within the container. After pressure

reading, gas may be released into the burettes for routine CO2 analysis. This is done by opening the needle valve above the gauge bar. Mounting of burettes on the shaker pro vides the constant agitation usually required for complete release of gas and the complete mixture of the gas with the caustic solution in the burette.
