reet damping to prevent oscillation or Undue slowing of approach. The inputs can be derived from strain gages, thermo couples, phototubes, electronic circuits, or computer outputs. A general view of the instrument is shown in Figure 2. A few typical applica tions are shown in Figure 3. The curve at the top shows the completely automatic thermal analysis of a clay sample. The ordinales represent the temperature and the abscissas the difference in temperature between the clay and some thermally indifferent substance. Three analytically significant inflections are apparent in this curve. A differential thermocouple sup plied the ,V input, and the )* input was connected to a thermocouple which fol lowed the slowly increasing furnace tem perature.

Eliminates long computational With the LK 30, the data are easily evalu ated and interpreted... the complete analysis within Vh hrs. from start to finish! The LK 30 dimensions are only 16" χ 19" χ 12"—weighs 53 lbs. All parts readily accessible. Mirrors and lenses cannot shift. .. they are welded into position to eliminate recementing nuisance! Can be operated by untrained per sonnel on slight briefing. Diffusion measurements can also be taken with the LK 30 by making a simple adaptation. Figure 3. Typical Applications The second chart illustrates the auto matic recording of vacuum tube character istics. In this example the plate currentplate voltage curves are drawn in for sev eral fixed grid-cathode voltages, showing the typical behavior of a pentode. The third curve illustrates the currentvoltage curve of a selenium rectifier in the forward and reverse direction.
