Mobile-Pensccola Section Elects Stump as C h a i r m a n J. II. Stump, Jr., assistant chemical director for Newport Industries, Inc.,. has been elected chairman of the ACS Mobile - Pensacola Section. Dr. Stump succeeds, as chairman, C. E. Lane, Jr. of Mississippi Southern College. W. D. McNally was named chairman-elect for 1953. E. H. Boyer J. H. Stump, Jr. of Providence Hospital was elected secretary. Serving as treasurer will be J. L. Baxter, Hollingsworth & Whitney Co. Forney Heads Indiana Section The Indiana Section of the ACS has chosen R. B. Forney, Indiana University Medical Center, as chairman for this year. Dr. Forney, who is an associate professor of toxicology, succeeds W. B. Fortune of Eli Lilly & Co. Named as chairman-elect was T. G. Delang, U. S. Rubber Co. Other officers elected are R· B. Vincenty chairman for 1953. Mr. Vincenty is head of the biochemistry section of the research department, Economic Development Administration of Puerto Rico. Pie succeeds A. A. Colon, supervisor of research for Carlos Vincenty the Economic Development Administration, as chairman. Rafael Pol Mendez, who is manager of the Los Canos Sugar Producers Cooperative, was named cbairman-elect. Leonardo Igaravidez, chemist at the Puerto Rico Experiment Station, will serve as secretary and treasurer. Hofstra Student Affiliate Chapter Establishes A w a r d An annual award, which will honor the graduating Plofstra student who has achieved the highest average in chemistry, has been established by the Hofstra Student Affiliate Chapter of the AMERICAN
