CHROMATOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS

THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS

Aminco's sew Gas Chromatograph analyzes both gases and liquids by means ef a variety of detecting units: (1) thermistor, (2) hot wire filament, and (3) RF discharge. Unit operates at extremely high temperatures; uses small volumes of sample; is highly sensitive.

New analytical tool that subjects samples to temperatures up to 1000°C. in vacuum or gases, and permanently records changes in weight as a function of: (1) temperature, programmed for selected linear heating rate, and (2) time, at a constant temperature. Operation is completely automatic.

All these instruments will be displayed at the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, Feb. 27-March 3, at the Penn-Sheraton Hotel, P i t t s b u r g h , Pa., Booth 90-91.

SPECTROPHOSPHORIMETER

Papers discussing applications

MENISCO-MATIC BURET

for two of these instruments

Accomplishes macro, micro, and ultra-micro titrations; dispenses titrants mechanically. Exact volumes of titrant dispensed are indicated on a counting device that reads to closest 0.0001 ml. A new recorder attachment permits permanent record of titrant volumes dispensed.

ACCEPTED for SHOW PRESENTATION Papers describing important new applications of the Aminco Titracoiormat (Paper 14) and the Spectrophosphorimeter (Paper 120) have been accepted for presentation at the Pittsburgh Conference. Reserve a few minutes of your schedule for: Paper No. 14—"Automatic Determination of Calcium with Calcein", by J. Wasilewski, to be presented at 10:50 A.M., Monday, February 27, in the Pittsburgh Room of the Penn-Sheraton Hotel (15 minutes); and Paper No. 120—"Electronic Emission Spectra of Some Tryptophan Metabolites", by H. Howerton, to be presented at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, in the Terrace Room of the Penn-Sheraton Hotel (10 minutes).

TITRAC0L0RMAT AUTOMATES C0L0RIMETRIC TITRATIONS Operating t o g e t h e r with the Menisco-matic Buret shown above, this new instrument automatically stops colorimetric titrations at the end point, and provides digital readout of the titrant volume delivered. Data may be fed to chart recorders, printers, or computers. Note paragraph at left; Paper No. 14 to be delivered at the Pittsburgh Show.

ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

The Aminco-Keirs Spectrophosphorimeter identifies innumerable compounds through their phosphorescence characteristics. Data are traced on an oscillograph or plotted on a recorder. Instrument provides three types of phosphorescence data: activation spectra, emission spectra, or time decay curves. Range is 200-800 millimicrons. Note paragraph at bottom left; Paper No. 120 to be delivered at the Pittsburgh Show.

CHLORIDE TITRATOR Measures chloride content of biological samples such as serum, plasma, etc. Titrations can be completed in from 5 to 60 seconds with standard deviation of 0.5% of mean value. Completely automatic, the unit measures as little as 0.25 micro equivalents of chloride. Samples as small as 0.01 ml. of serum can be processed. (Send for Bulletin 2337-H.)
