R E A S O N S WHY THE AMINCO-BOWMAN S P F IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER SPECTROPHOTOFLUOROMETER NOW AVAILABLE Increased Sensitivity: 17 times the sensitivity of the closest competitive instrument (the old Aminco-Bowman SPF) while still maintaining high resolution. Limits of detection are now 3 parts per trillion for quinine sulfate when excited at 350 nm and 2 parts per trillion when excited at 250 nm—an unprecedented UV sensitivity. Limit of detection for antracene when excited at 250 nm is 4 parts per trillion. The above sensitivities are measured with a signal-to-noise ratio of 10:1, with the noise level less than 0 . 5 % of full scale. Greater Resolution: Adjustable monochromator mirrors focus at the defining slit of each monochromator, giving each of them a resolution of 0.65 nm. Previous monochromators were focused in the sample cell. When 0.1 mm slits are used the overall resolution is less than 1 nm, while still maintaining high sensitivity.

Complete Temperature Stability: New standard constant-temperature cell compartment may be connected to accessory constant-temperature baths or customer's liquid or gas coolant source to maintain desired temperature in sample cell. Improved lamp housing maintains the lamp at an optimum temperature for increased ultraviolet life.

Less Noise: A new power supply reduces instrument's 0 . 2 5 % down to 0 . 1 % in xenon pulsing and arc wander. A modular the instrument, allowing the new power 12 feet.
