An Alternate Method for Preparing Presentation Slides Wright and Blevins' recently reported a simplified method preparing presentation slides. I would like t o suggest an alternate method which gives satisfactory results without the necessity of loading your own film canister, doing your own developing, or contact printing. To make slides, one needs a copy stand and a 35 mm SLR camera with macro lens fitted with a yellow filter. Obtain a roll of color print film. Shoot the slides as discussed in the cited article; you can even do it outdoors in the daylight (no floods needed). Then simply have t h e roll of fi1m"dweloped only" (no prints) a t your local photoprocessor. This usually takes only one day in most locations. The negatives from the color print film will have adark blue background with the text transparent. Other interesting colors can be obtained withother colored filters. The negatives are then cut and placed into slide mounts which are available from anv camera store. M'hilr t11e alrwr methud does not pnducr the exact quivolent of prufcssi
