Announcements 1992 GORDON RESEARCH CONFERENCE ON DRUG METABOLISM: GRADUATE STUDENT AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW TRAVEL AWARDS
A limited number of travel awards of $900 are available for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to support their travel and registration expenses to the Gordon Research Conference on Drug Metabolism. The conference will be held July 12-17, 1992, at the Holderness School in Plymouth, NH. Applicants should be in graduate programs leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with research interests in the areas of drug metabolism or pharmacokinetics, or postdoctoral fellows working in similar areas. Applicants must be prepared to present their research findings during a poster session at the conference. Applications consisting of (1) a letter justifying participation in the Conference; (2) a one-page, double-spaced abstract (FASEB style) describing the research; and (3) a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s advisor/mentor should be sent to Dr. Grant R. Wilkinson, Department of Pharmacology, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, 21st and Pierce Avenues, Nashville, T N 37232-6600. Applications must be received no later than May 15, 1992.
CENTER FOR NUTRITION AND TOXICOLOGY: “DNA ADDUCTS OF CARCINOGENIC AND MUTAGENIC AGENTS: CHEMISTRY, IDENTIFICATION, AND BIOLOGICAL SIGNI FICANCE”
The Center for Nutrition and Toxicology is organizing a meeting entitled “DNA Adducts of Carcinogenic and Mutagenic Agents: Chemistry, Identification, and Biological Significance” to be held November 18-21,1992, in Stockholm, Sweden. The aim of the meeting is to critically review the DNA adducts known to date from experiments in vitro and in vivo. Mutagenic and carcinogenic consequences of specific adducts will also be discussed.
