Announcements INSTITUTE OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI MEDICAL CENTER, COURSE: QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL I N ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY

The Institute of Environmental Health Office of Continuing Education at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center is offering a course entitled “Quality Assurance/Quality Control in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry” to be held October 3-5,1990, The course will examine and elucidate the principles, requirements, and strategies of quality assurance and quality control for environmental toxicology, environmental chemistry, and human biological monitoring laboratories. Participants in the course will learn how to establish an effective QA/QC program to provide scientifically sound and legally defensible data. For further information (e.g., tuition, etc.) please call (513) 558-1730 (2.0 CEUs, ABIH points applied for).

MIDATLANTIC SOCIETY OF TOXICOLOGY: IMMUNOTOXICOLOGY SYMPOSIUM ON PRINCIPLES AND MECHANISMS

The Midatlantic Society of Toxicology will be sponsoring a one-day symposium Thursday, November 15,1990, at the Princeton Ramada Hotel. Presentations will include basic principles of immunology and models used to assess immunotoxicity, both in vivo and in vitro. Considerations in dealing with immunocompromised patients, host resistance, and regulatory aspects of drug approval will also be discussed. For further details, please contact Patricia Weideman, NYU Medical Center, Institute of Environmental Medicine, A. J. Lanza Laboratories, Tuxedo, NY 10989.
