/fpplied Research Laboratories' Spectrographs ^ * c a n now b e e q u i p p e d with Direct-Reading Quantometer Attachments which allow one to two minute spectrochemical analyses of routine samples for production control. Up to sixteen elements can b e a n a l y z e d simultaneously in this short period of time with improved a c c u r a c y over the usual photographic method. The camera of the Spectrograph is replaced with a case arranged to take a predetermined array of up to sixteen semi-adjustable slits, cylindrical mir rors, a n d multiplier-phototubes which allow use of a
corresponding number of spectrum lines for analyses. Signals from each multiplier charge a con denser, integrating light over the entire excitation period just as the photographic plate does. A single, stable, ultra-high-impedance amplifier a n d penrecording system are then switched from condenser to condenser to provide a pen recording over printed, concentration scales of the various elements. A directreading inked record of the quantitative analysis of the sample thus results. Literature describing this unique equipment is now available.
