ARMAK ALIPHATIC AMINES DEVEIOPED FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF PETR01E0M APPLICATIONS For more than 30 years Armak has provided fatty amine surfactants to the petroleum industry where they are used in oil production, processing and as fuel additives. By varying the allkyl radical from C8 to C18. corresponding variations occur in solubility and thermal stability. The amino nitrogen carries a positive charge with an affinity for negatively charged metal surfaces. Through this mechanism well casings, refinery piping as well as automotive parts are coated with a fatty amine film for protection against corrosion.

R-1 Corrosion
Inhibitor
Armohlb R1 was specifically designed to inhibit corrosion and fouling on the process side of petroleum refining equipment. When it is fed continuously to the process stream at rates as low as 5 ppm, Armohlb R-1 maintains a protective monomolecular film coating in the vapor lines and product steams of a refinery. Armak Industrial Chemicals Division has published a new 16 page booklet, B u l l e t i n 81-9, Chemicals for the Petroleum Industry. The booklet details Armak chemicals used in a wide variety of applications including: Drilling and Well Preparations, Recovery Operations, Additives, Coal-Oil Mixtures, and Lubricants. Charts are included which describe Armak chemicals by function and specific application area. An extensive patent and literature bibliography are also provided.
NEW PETROLEOM INDUSTRY RESEARCHBROUP FORMED In order to serve the petroleum industry with more complete applications information on Armak's chemicals, a new Petroleum Industry Applications Research Group has been formed. This group will also serve as a technical service support for Armak's petroleum customers. The Petroleum Industry Applications Research Group will screen a number of promising new molecules and systems for incorporation in corrosion inhibitors, drilling mud additives, biocides and fuel additives.

Armogard G-101 is an amine based gasoline additive which has demonstrated excellent performances as a carburetor detergent, gasoline de-icer and corrosion inhibitor. This product is liquid, easy to use and does not affect octane number.

F-201 Fuel Oil Additive
Armogard F-201 is an amine based fuel oil additive for use by refiners, fuel oil distributors and large scale oil consumers. Armogard F-201 inhibits sludge formations in oil storage tanks, lines and equipment, dispersing existing sludges and protects boiler and metal parts against severe corrosion.

Armostim oilwell stimulants are used to increase water injection rates in secondary recovery operations. They reduce oil-coated iron sulfide accumulations, increase water permeability, and prevent sloughing and agglomeration of nonswelling clay particles.
