TROUBLE-FREE USE
The convenience of magnetic stirring has been used in the laboratory for many years, and has been the only simple system for stirring in narrow necked vessels or completely closed systems. However, heating liquids while using a magnetic stirrer has been difficult, if not impossible—until the introduction of the LANCO Combined Hot Plate and Magnetic Stirrer. The unit consists of a light alloy casting which forms the base of the apparatus and houses the controls for heating and stirring and the stirrer motor. A stain less steel support rod threads into the base, and the hot plate assembly plugs into the top of the base It is easily removable tor servicing. 1 he base is finished m ivory baked-on enamel, and the unit presents a goodlooking, compact instrument for the laboratory. The speed of the stirrer motor is controlled by a rheostat, to obtain the most effective speed for stirring a
particular liquid. Heating is infinitely variable from 0 to 400 watts, the heater being controlled by an input controller. Both the rheostat and input controller have "Off" positions, so that heating and stirring are independent of each other, and can be used separately or together. The motor and magnet are fan-cooled for long life. A glass enclosed stirring magnet is supplied with the unit. A grounding plug is furnished for safety, SPECIFICATIONS inches 12^ χ 7 ^ „ ,. „ . , . , " Overall Height, inches 21 Hot Plate Diameter, inches 5 Heater Rating, watts 400 Voltage 115 volts--(50 cycles—AC only.
