This stirrer has a mechanical cone-drive transmission which in creases torque as speed decreases. Adequate power is always available regardless of speed, within the infinitely variable range of 18 to 2250 rpm. Two hollow spindles permit stirring rod to be adjusted to de sired height quickly. The low-speed spindle covers the range 18-270 rpm. The high-speed spindle, 150-2250 rpm. Switchover from one shaft to another is effected by a quick-release handle. MOTOR GUARANTEED ONE YEAR Stirrer is designed for continuous duty without lubrication or maintenance. Precision bearings are used. Shafts are hardened steel. TEMPUNIT WATER BATH CONTROLLER Controls Temperature, Heats, Stirs —Accurate pneumatic control system holds uninsulated 4-gallon (larger if insulated) water bath to 0.05°C from set point. Tubular 1000-watt heater is wound in the shape of a helix. A stirrer rotating inside the coil effectively dissipates heat. Large heater capacity enables rapid heating from room temperature to desired level, without excessive overshoot. Stirrer suction circulates one liter of water per minute to stabilize temperature of external instruments, such as refractometers and viscosimeters. Water bath and the T E M P U N I T are protected from over heating or stoppage of water circulation by automatic shut-off. The sensing element operates a unique pneumatic system which receives its air supply through suction from the stirrer. If the circulating system is damaged, suction ceases, the control dia phragm collapses and the heater is switched off. CONVENIENT CLAMP
