NEW PRODUCTS Mass Spectrometer Inlet System

NEW Small Animal

The 21-084 Inlet System, designed for use with CEC's Type 21-103C Mass Spectrometer, is a heated glass unit per mitting liquids and solids to be intro duced into mass spectrometers at tem peratures up to 350° C. The inlet unit is 44V 2 " high X I4V2" wide X 20 1 / 2 " deep. The upper portion contains an oven to vaporize samples ; the lower section contains the vacuum system and controls. Liquids are introduced directly into the expan sion volume through a gallium-covered frit by means of a capillary tube. A solid inlet port is available as an op tional accessory. METABOLISM CHAMBER with this new L&N Conductivity Monitor

• Continuous respiration monitoring. • Urine and feces separation, and tail-blood sampling, without crosscontamination. • Restrainer cage available separately. Adjusts to rats of various sizes. Continuously monitors the respired air from rats up to 350 grams. Urine, feces, and tail-blood samples can be collected separately without cross-contamination or interruption of the breath analysis. The small chamber volume, 1.4 liters, insures a fast response time and high resolution of the respiratory CO2. Consists of 2 sections: a pyrex chamber and an adjustable plexiglas restrainer cage. Easily cleaned or decontaminated. The animal is in view at all times.

Unusually compact, this Conductivity Monitor is completely transistorized. Its advanced circuitry assures relia ble, maintenance-free performance. It is unmatched in providing directreading measurements in the labora tory or on the process line.

The Model KD Kromo-Tog, gas chromatograph, which can operate at tem peratures up to 500° C , is equipped with a thermal conductivity detector. Provision has been made for installa tion of a hydrogen flame or gas den sity detector, if desired. Burrell Corp., 2223 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh 19, Pa. 424
