Agitator shaft is sealed and protected by a specially developed p a c k i n g assembly, allowing operation at high pressures and temperatures w i t h o u t leaking and w i t h o u t gauling the shaft. T h i s feature permits operation with heavy gases like a m m o n i a or light h y d r o g e n , a factor of real i m p o r t a n c e . Specially designed fittings enable the chemist t o make gas-tight joints in a m i n i m u m of time, w i t h o u t the use of large tools and w i t h o u t d a m a g e to closures.
