Af the Union Beach plant of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc., Bernard Mitzner installs one of the first automatic attenuating slidewires on an ElictroniK gas chromatography recorder. Mr. Mitzner, Supervisor of the Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, reports that attenuating slidewiree q u i p p e d recorder has t r i p l e d the number of analyses here at one of the nation's largest chromatography laboratories.

completely unattended No need for an operator to stand by when you use an ElectroniK gas chromatography recorder equipped with an attenuating slidewire. Manual attenuation is eliminated: A re-transmitting slidewire automatically attenuates chart curves as close as possible to full scale deflection. Every analysis is accurate and usable the very first time it's run.

easily. Standardization is automatic and continuous. A low-inertia pen carriage provides high sensitivity and resolution. Any type of switch and alarm can be added.

TERPENE MIXTURES" ATT'N-16 0.25 ml LINEAR

Manually attenuated curve shows results of first analysis of a terpene mixture. Additional runs will be needed before all the peaks are properly attenuated for an accurate analysis. Operator must be in attendance during each run.

TERPENE MIXTURES" ATT'N O-oo 0.25 ml RE-TRANSMITTING SLIDEWIRE

Automatically attenuated curve, with the ElectroniK recorder, has sufficient deflection for accurate analysis on the first run. With the new re-transmitting slidewire, attenuation is automatic; no need for an operator in attendance.
