ANALYTICAL TOOLS THAT WORK HARD AND SMART, FIVE WAYS. 1. atomic fluorescence 2. ICP emission 3. atomic absorption 4. molecular fluorescence 5. arc/spark emission

1. Plasma/AFS.™ Baird's unique Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer™ now has three major innovations to enhance its analytical versatility: an automated continuous flow hydride generator permitting simultaneous determination of hydride and nonhydride forming elements; detection modules for phosphorus and sulfur; and a hydrofluoric acid-resistant torch for extending the useful life of expensive quartz torches and simplifying simultaneous silicon determinations in oil analysis.

NEW WITH AIDS 2. Plasma Spectromet, with Plasmacomp® II and AIDS. Baird's new Automatic Injection and Dilution System, AIDS, solves the problem of sample dilution for high through-put ICPanalysis of vis cous fluids, especially oils, by automatically diluting samples immediately before nebulization, freeing the operator for other tasks. With AIDS and an autosampler, the Baird Plasma Spectromet can accurately analyze 60 elements in 80 samples (4800 elemental determinations) per hour. The only labor required is setting the samples in the autosampler. CIRCLE 26 ON READER SERVICE CARD

LET US PROVE IT TO YOU IN ATLANTIC CITY. 3. Alpha 4 Computerized Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Baird's Alpha Series offers a choice of four models for your atomic absorption requirements, permitting J to choose the instrument precisely suited to your ids and budget. Among their features: a computerci system with video readout and unlimited curve i cookbook storage; high efficiency optics for ximum light transmission; and layout simplicity to îrantee that no unnecessary mirrors become ;aligned or require costly replacement.

ALL NEW 4. NOVA™ Microprocessor-based Spectrofluorometer. A built-in CRT is just one of the many standard features of NOVA that are optional in competitive instruments. From pushbutton zero to automatic peak-seek and auto ranging, Nova's operating parameters are keyboard selectable and continuously displayed on the monitor. Data are presented in either digital or bar graph format, and peak height or peak area may be selected for optimizing integration modes. CIRCLE 28 ON READER SERVICE CARD
