BAKELITE NO ABSENTEEISM HERE! A LARGE SOUTHERN RAILROAD suffered

from ab-

senteeism—among its freight cars. T h e road hauls a huge tonnage of phosphates, and had to lay its cars up frequently for repainting. Finally it tried a new primer based on a BAKÉLITE resin, in combination with its usual freight car paint. These coatings were in A-i condition 12 months later, and the new primer was adopted as standard. Records show that the road's freight car repainting jobs have been cut considerably, with consequent labor and material savings, and increased earning ability of rolling stock. Other railroads, too—faced by their own service conditions—have adopted durable primers based on BAKÉLITE resins to prevent absenteeism of freight cars and to boost earnings. And these same primers are helping maintain the efficiency and prolong the service life of industrial and

public works plants from coast to coast—resisting such deteriorating actions as those of smoke, femes, and weather extremes—holding to rock bottom the maintenance of buildings and operating equipment Durable coatings based on BAKELITE resins have been developed by leading p a i n t l a n d varnish manufacturers in cooperation with bakelite Laboratories Your usual supplier can furnish them, both as primers and top coats, to meet your specific needs If you have a special problem, we shall be glad to help solve it.
