BECCO ACETYL P E R O X I D E S O L U T I O N Chemists of the Buffalo Electro-Chemical Company, Inc., have developed a process for making solutions o f acetyl peroxide w h i c h are p e r f e c t l y safe t o handle. It is a 3 0 perT cent solution o f acetyl peroxide in dimethylpfcithalate, water white, nonexplosive and immune to shock and impact. T h e acetyl peroxide solution is o f value a s a polymerization agent. Other interesting applications include its use as a non-aqueous oxidizing agent, as a modifying agent for pits and possibly as a germicide. It has great possibilities in organic synthesis, offering a source of highly reactive free radicals*
