THE

Regional M e e t i n g The 14th Southwest Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society, to be held at the Hilton Hotel, San Antonio, Dec. 4 to 6, will include a halfday session on analytical chemistry. The annual meeting of the Texas Water and Sanitation Research Foundation will be held concurrently. The program will place special emphasis on air pollution, wastes, and water. I t will also feature a Symposium on the Chemical Industry and Opportunities in Mexico. Allen V. Astin, Director, National Bureau of Standards, will be the banquet speaker on Friday evening, Dec. 5. The San Antonio Section is host. Meeting chairman is Alden Waitt (retired). Louis Koenig, research consultant, is program chairman. Registration fee is $5.00 for ACS members. Banquet tickets are $5.50. A ladies program is scheduled. There will be several industrial exhibits. Plant trips will include the Lone Star Brewery, American Lithium Chemicals, Brooke Army Medical Center, and Southwest Research Institute. The analytical program appears below:
