Adiel Coca Adiel Coca was born in Havana, Cuba and later immigrated to Yonkers, NY with his family. He obtained his BS degree from Iona College (New Rochelle, NY) in 2001. He then received a PhD in 2007 from Pennsylvania State University (State College, PA) under the guidance of Dr. Ken S. Feldman. After a oneyear visiting position at Franklin and Marshall College (Lancaster, PA), he took a position at Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, CT) in 2008 where he is currently an Associate Professor. He was a visiting researcher at Oxford University (Oxford, UK) in Dr. Mark Moloney’s group during the fall of 2015. Dr. Coca’s current research interests include the synthesis of natural and unnatural heterocyclic compounds and the development of new antibiotics.
