Shell Chemical Corp., .500 Fifth Ave., New York, issued a new price schedule, effective April 1? 1950, showing advances of four cents for the company's isopropyl alcohols. New tank car quotation for the refined 99T< is 35 cents; for the 95 r /r grade 33.5 cents; and for the 91 f'r grade 32 cents per gallon. Verona Chemical Co., Newark 4, N . J., has ("fleeted a number of price changes for its products. α-Amy lcinnamic alde­ hyde was lowered 10 cents p e r pound in lb. cans to $1.80, ranging d o w n in price as quantities rise*, to S 1.60 in drumlots. T h e company reduced by some 5'* prices for anisic· alde'liyde ( a u b é p i n e ) , the drum price· becoming $2.10 per pound, with $2.20 applying to 5-lh. cans. Among the advances were citral, now priced at $5.50 in 25-11). lots a s against $5.30 formerly. Eugenol, USP, was raised from S 1.90 to $2.10 per p o u n d in 100-lb. lots. Hydroxycitronellal is higher, with 50-lb. lots quoted a t $7.05; ione IC ketone is up to $4.90 in drum lots, while drum lots of methyl ionone a r e higher, at $5.00. Alpha-ionone, extra, was advanced to $6.25 for 25-lb. cans. Various oils of rosewood were a d v a n c e d . Benzol Products Co., 237 South St., Newark 5, N. J., effective M a r c h 22 formally recognized competition by cutting prices on two of its pharmaceuticals. T h e price of atninophylline, USP, in fiber drums, 100-lb, lots, becomes $5.40 per pound as against $6.00 formerly. Likewise, the price of theophylline, USP, dehydrated, in fiber d r u m s , 100-lb. lots is now priced at $5.60 per p o u n d , as against $6.00 formerly. V O L U M E
