DYTEK*Aamine(2Methylpentamethylenediamine) is a highly useful, cost-competitive building block from Du Pont. The 2-methyl branch effectively imparts lower viscosity, greaterflexibility,and improved compat­ ibility in a wide variety of formulations. In polyamides, DYTEK A has found excellent application in hot-melt adhesives, ink resins, plas­ tics, films, and fibers. In water treatment, it has been successfully used to formulate corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, and emulsion breakers. Other important uses for this innovative diamine are as a chain extender for urethanes, in diisocya-

nate synthesis, and as an epoxy curing agent. DYTEK A is supplied as a pure (98.5% mini­ mum), water-white liquid, and is now commercially available in bulk quantities and 55-gallon drums.
