200 pounds of dried, flaked material every 7 t o 8 minutes instead of t h e 10 t o 1 1 minutes formerly required! T h a t ' s how m u c h Bristol-Myers stepped up output from these machines simply b y replacing drum-type rolls of different material with Lukenweld Jacketed Steel Drier Rolls—an average increase of 4 1 % . N o other changes were m a d e . T h e increased production w a s entirely due t o the increased drying rate and positive m e t h o d of condensate removal of rolls of Lukenweld design a n d steel plate construction. H a d steam pressure been increased above the 80 psi used in b o t h old a n d n e w rolls,

t h e drying rate could h a v e b e e n further increased. Records since installation of the Lukenweld Rolls i n 1938 show a further saving.
