VITREOSIL is pure silicon di oxide fused together. Compared to glass, platinum or porcelain it can withstand higher temper atures, is unaffected by most acids, and is not porous to com mon gases at high tempera tures. VITREOSIL is an unusually good electrical insulator, and clear grade has excellent optical qualities. Fabricated in tubes, rods, flats, sheets, and blocks for lenses, laboratory and in dustrial ware, special fabricaÇ=? tion, and quartz to metal seals.
