FIELD TESTING Conductivity probe. Hanna Instruments introduces the HI 9635 portable multirange conductivity/total dissolved solids meter. The probe uses the 4-ring potentiometric method to measure conductivity in liquids and in total dissolved solids in ranges of 0-199.9 mS/cm and 0-100 ppt, respectively. 121

Model 3006 is a portable, microprocessorbased system; Model 9900 is a 19-in. rack-mount configuration; and Model 3003 is used for in-line monitoring. 124
SITE ASSESSMENT 3D mapping software. Earth Resource Mapping has released ER Mapper 5.5, which features advanced multisurface 3D capabilities. Version 5.5 can display multiple surfaces in 3D and allows for photorealistic 3D image printing on most machines. The mapping software runs under Windows NT, Windows 95, Sun Solaris, and SGI Irix. 125
LABORATORY Pharmacokinetics studies software. PE Nelson has introduced a pharmacokinetics studies management software package, SQL*PROTOCOL. The software integrates with PE Nelson's LIMS system to manage pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, absorption, impact analysis, and metabolism studies. 122 Wavelength reference material. SpectroStandards Analytical introduces the CRM 100 Holmium Oxide Solution Wavelength Standard for use in the verification and calibration of spectral wavelength scales of UV-vis absorption spectrophotometers. 123
TREATMENT Sewage and industrial wastewater. RGF Environmental Systems, Inc., offers the BioSorb System, which uses a catalytic oxidation process for the treatment and/or reclamation of sewage and biodegradable industrial wastewaters. The system achieves 95% BOD reduction. 126 Wastewater evaporator. Landa, Inc., produces the natural gas-fired Hot Box evaporator, which has an energy-efficient combustion chamber. The combustion box requires 180,000 BTU to evaporate up to 15 gal/h. Models HBG-15 and HBG-30 operate in either a batch process or continuous flow at rates of up to 15-30 gal/h. 127
