ABSTRACT: Regioselective formation of vinylogous acyl sulfonates was accomplished via the allylic oxidation of the corresponding vinyl sulfonates. The reaction progressed through the agency of catalytic iron(III) chloride catalysis with tert-Butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) as the stoichiometric oxidant.
