Celanese is where the action is... Multifunctional Acrylates. The use of radiation curing (U.V. or electron beam) is rapidly accelerating. This solid growth comes as no surprise. It was inevitable because radiation curing contributes so significantly to critical energy savings and pollution abatement. Important capital savings and increased production are additional benefits accrued through this technology. Celanese has been part of the action from the very beginning. Anticipating the potential demand fç>r U.V. inks and coatings, Celanese committed its resources to the development of a broad line of multifunctional acrylates. And today we are a major producer of pentaerythritol triacryldte, 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate, trimethylolpropanetriacrylate, and tetraethylene glycol diacrylate. We are basic in both ends of these molecules and an important source of other acrylic and vinyl monomers. As new applications continue to be identified, Celanese will continue its efforts to improve and increase utilization of radiation curing systems.
