T.YZOR titanates Every chemist worth his salts knows that typical Ziegler (or coordination) catalysts for olefin polymerization are Al/Ti compounds. But that doesn't mean you have to start with titanium halides to make a batch of usable catalyst. You could begin with a titanium alkyoxide and still end up with just the right Al/Ti ratio for the reaction at hand. Why use titanates? Not to reduce, but to eliminate the corrosive metallic halide components. Materials-of -construction concepts can be radically changed. Think of the investment savings; think of the maintenance savings! With titanium esters you get all the benefits of coordination catalysts without halide corrosion. Besides, TYZOR organic titanates are handy to have around, and not just for polymerizing olefins. They're effective with other monomeric building blocks, too: esters, silicones, urethanes, alcohols. Besides keeping acids out of reactions, they can also limit unwanted side reactions, speed up cure times, and polymerize at lower temperatures. Send us the coupon, and we'll send you our technical bulletin on TYZOR organic titanates. Maybe you can use an acid-free Ziegler catalyst some day.
