OVERVIEW

KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Te importance of clean drinking water is recognized worldwide. Water suppliers frequently add disinfectants to drinking water. Unfortunately, disinfectants interact with naturally-occurring materials forming toxic byproducts. Water utilities face the challenge of limiting exposure of these disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in order to minimize human health risks. Various regulatory bodies including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) regulate various DPBs in drinking water.

• Provide a review of drinking water regulations for DBPs

In this webinar we will discuss using ion chromatography for the determination of bromate, chlorate and haloacetic acids for compliance monitoring according to various ISO standards (15061, 11206, 10304-4, 23631) and U.S. EPA Method 557. Examples will include IC methods using electrolytically generated hydroxide eluents on a ReagentFree™ IC (RFIC™) system.

• Demonstrate benefts of using ion chromatography for analyzing DBPs • Demonstrate Termo Scientifc IC innovations around simple analysis methods

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: • Persons at municipal drinking water facilities • Persons at bottled water facilities • Persons using IC for water analysis • Persons interested in understanding drinking water regulations
