OVERVIEW Tis webinar focuses on thermal characterization of polymers by means of modern DSC solutions. In the introduction, the possible application felds of DSC will be presented, followed by an explanation of the working principle of a modern heatfow DSC equipped with a fast furnace. Aferwards, the new state-of-the art SmartMode user interface will be introduced, which enables every user to get reliable measurements that are objectively analyzed and allow polymer identifcation by an integrated database. Application examples on thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers give the participant a brief overview of information that can be obtained by DSC, like glass transition, melting and crystallization behavior, curing or post-curing, oxidative stability or efect of additives. Finally, an outlook on comprehensive techniques like TGA, DMA, TMA and DEA will be given.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND Tis webinar is targeted toward chemists, physicists, material scientists and process technicians from industry and research who focus on the production, processing and/or characterization of polymers like thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, paints or coatings.

KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES: • Operation principle of Diferential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC) • Application for incoming goods inspection, process development, part analysis • Advantages of methods like isothermal crystallization and temperature modulation
