Orthogonal Techniques for Advanced Characterization of Biopharmaceuticals Date: March 28, 2013 Time: 11:00 a.m. EDT / 10:00 a.m. CDT / 8:00 a.m. PDT / 15:00 GMT This webinar will provide fresh insights into the use of wellestablished characterization techniques, including light scattering and size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC), for the investigation of biopharmaceuticals. We will demonstrate that, when used in combination, these can provide a wide range of complementary information which is extremely useful to protein scientists. Dynamic light scattering can monitor sample stability, detect early aggregates in protein formulations and study the thermal stability of proteins. SEC with static light scattering and intrinsic viscosity can quantify the proportion of aggregates present, measure molecular weight and oligomeric state, and also study conjugation and structural changes. New analysis techniques, such as resonant mass measurement, UV area imaging and microrheology, will supply even further detail to support product development and characterization.
