CETYL VINYL ETHER improves rigid Polyvinyl Chloride three ways: Strength.. .Clarity... Processabil ity

Cetyl vinyl ether, a new addition to the GAF line of vinyl ethers, offers advantages in the production of rigid polyvinyl chloride. A reactive monomer, it c o p o l y m e r i z e s w i t h v i n y l c h l o r i d e to f o r m an internally plasticized p r o d u c t w i t h excellentclarity, impact strength, and extrusion characteristics.

And, in eliminating the need for an external plasti cizer, a compounding step is saved. Cetyl vinyl ether also copolymerizes with a variety of other unsaturated monomers, including acrylonitrile, vinylidene chloride and acrylates. Semi-commercial quantities are now available. For complete technical details, send the coupon to the GAF Commercial Development Department.

As an internal plasticizer at extremely low levels, cetyl vinyl ether resists migration and doesn't exude from the plastic. Moreover, impact strength of the
