Most everyone knows UOP has led the way to new, more profitable petroleum processes for the past half century. Not so common knowledge is the great and increasing use of UOP processes and knowhow in the petrochemical field. For UOP offers you five outstanding advantages: 1. UOP research is always coming up with new and better processes to apply to your problems. 2. UOP provides a total processing solution, with analysts and designers exploring every aspect of your needs, from economics to

production to marketing. 3. UOP's highly experienced engineering staffs work with your contractor, assuring precise installation. 4. UOP has the largest field service force, working around the world to back up our high-yield guarantee from start-up through continuous operation. 5. UOP has a wide and rapidly expanding variety of petrochemical processes, ready to turn raw materials into chemical intermediates for you, surely and profitably. Here are just two outstanding examples.

OLEX... most selective process possible to give you the olefins you need! UOP's exclusive new OLEX process can now give you the high-purity normal olefins you want, when you want them. Olex* uses unique adsorption techniques... has demonstrated a minimum separation efficiency of 95% with normal paraffin and olefin feedstocks ranging up to Cis. Through selective feedstocks, you can pick a specific range of olefins for use in the manufacture of soft detergents, plasticizers, viscosity index improvers or synthetic lube oils.

PAREX... new UOP process boosts pure para-xylene yield! UOP's Parex* is a continuous process that assures almost total recovery of pure paraxylene from mixed xylene fractions for use in producing polyester film, fiber and yam. Not only does Parex increase yields, it also provides the means to reduce both capital investment and production costs. In addition, associated isomerization units can be smaller, recycle streams can be decreased, separation of other isomers is greatly simplified. 'Servicemark of UOP
