PLURONIC GRID UPDATED AND EXPANDED In keeping with its goal of providing customers with a constant flow of up-to-the-minute technical information on Pluronic® polyols, Wyandotte announces a new and expanded version of its now-famous Pluronic Grid. Due to the ubiquitous nature of this polyol family, new and interesting applications are continually turning up . . . new data is developed. Eventually, a revised Grid is necessary to appreciate the combination of properties currently available. This new edition . . . the sixth . . . reflects significant advances that have been made in the development of extensive toxicological and irritation data on the Pluronic series and also includes important gelation and emulsification data. Properties in these and other areas are shown by means of new easy-to-read charts covering palatability, detergency, foaming, gel formation, toxicity, etc.

Chemicals Outlook MAY, 1968

Research chemists and formulators who have worked with previous editions of the Grid will find the new updated version even more helpful. Those who are not familiar with the Grid approach will find that it eliminates trial and error evaluation . . . saves many hours of work in selecting the right polyol, or group of polyols, to meet a specific application. NEW 2-PACKAGE URETHANE COATINGS FOR CONCRETE Pigmented urethane coatings for concrete made from Wyandotte polyethers and toluene diisocyanate (TDI) exhibit an unusual combination of hardness and flexibility. They also have outstanding abrasion resistance and excellent retention of properties in weathering tests. The superior chemical, solvent, water and impact resistance of these coatings and their excellent adhesion to concrete make them of growing importance for many types of protective and decorative concrete finishes. Areas of application include: cement and cinder block decorative finishes; concrete building, stadium and storage tank coatings; highway and bridge maintenance finishes; highway marking paints; and factory and sub-ground level floor finishes. Formulations for two important two-package pigmented coatings are offered in our newest data sheet. The first formulation is highly recommended for quick-dry applications such as production-line or heavy traffic areas: it features extremely rapid cure time, and employs Pluracol® EDP-500 as the crosslinking agent. The second formulation features a pot life in excess of 24 hours: it uses Pluracol TP-440 as a crosslinking agent. This means that the coating can be completely prepared at a remote location, then transported over reasonable distances to the job site for application. For our data sheet on two-package urethane coatings for concrete, write Department CO.
